The Outsourcing Decision Now What? Issues to Consider

As I write this article, summer is ending and World Expo is just a couple of weeks behind us. As usual, the show was full of interesting conversations, busy meetings and vendors of all types offering a number of solutions. It was also really great to see some old friends and make new ones. There were some new twists to the show this year, including the Hall of Fame awards for some very key contributors to our industry. I’d like to offer a hearty congratulations to those visionary individuals who were the founding Hall of Fame inductees. My buddy Brad Roderick was also honored with a Readers Choice Award for Best Article. Congratulations Brad and congratulations to all the other Readers Choice honorees!
Attendance at the show this year was slightly lower than last year and I don’t think that was much of a surprise to anyone as, among other things, fuel and transportation costs have risen. Despite this, there were some really good vendors and booths displaying at the show. In walking around and speaking with people it was very obvious that there was a lot of discussion about where to get cartridges, whether that meant one type of cartridge or a whole line of them. There seemed to be a lot of dealers, retailers (big and small) that were talking about “Where do you get your cartridges from?” This was a constant and prevalent question that I heard many people ask and discuss.
