Sage Recycling Solutions Offers Anti-Overflow Refill Device

RINGWOOD, Australia — Sage Recycling Solutions has released a new refilling device that eliminates overflow contamination when filling small color cartridges under a vacuum.
Ink is prone to overflow from the cartridge during the refill process. This creates significant stress for the operator, and also contaminates one or more of the other ink chambers.
Sage Recycling Solutions has identified ink overflow as a primary reason for many cartridges being under-filled. For example, original HP No. 57 cartridges weigh 54 grams.
When brought in for refilling it weighs 34 grams on average. However, the average refiller fills HP 57 cartridges to just 46-50 grams, producing a page yield that is, at best, 20-40 percent less than an OEM cartridge.
The new tool, aptly named the SAGE Overflow Device, fully eliminates the risk of overflow contamination, by using a special air flow sequence during refilling. It enables any operator to fill under vacuum without ruining the cartridge by overflow contamination.
The device is compatible with current model SAGE 4, 9 or 15 refilling machines. Sage Recycling Solutions are also developing a solution expressly for businesses who already own a non-SAGE refilling machine.
