Our Four Questions feature this month is a Q&A with Steve Weedon, Executive Vice President of Static Control and CEO of Static Control Europe.
1. You began with Static at SCC Europe and fairly recently transitioned to the U.S. headquarters. How did that come about, and how has the move benefited you and the company?
I started to put the framework of Static Control Europe together in 1993. Our business over the last 15 years has grown extensively. Today we use our European base to serve about 80 different countries in Europe and beyond, and are able to converse with our customers in 22 languages. Also along the way we have established operations in the Mideast located in Dubai and in India, also in South Africa and Hong Kong and more recently in China. So over the years a large part of our global business comes from these areas and it finally made sense for me to spend more time at Static Control World Headquarters in Sanford, N.C., so that all senior management could work together in one place to manage our growing global business together as a team.
2. SCC is known for its technological advancements. What gives the company its edge in R&D? How have you worked to ensure staying ahead of the tech curve?
