Two Mono MFPs from Kyocera Mita

November 21, 2007
Kyocera Mita America introduced the KM-3040 and KM-2540, two new monochrome multifunctional products (MFP) for departmental workgroups and small sized business environments. Durable and reliable, both machines combine robust, customizable copy capabilities with the option to add network printing and faxing to offer end-users the ability to tailor the document imaging solutions to their specific business needs.

The KM-3040 and KM-2540 deliver all the copy features and functionality today’s businesses demand, boasting output speeds of 30 and 25 pages per minute (PPM) respectively, 600 X 600 dpi and 256 levels of grayscale. Each device comes equipped with upgradeable memory to 192MB and a vast array of key features, including zoom, auto centering, and mirror image to enhance workforce productivity. In addition, both devices offer exceptional paper handling with a maximum paper capacity of up to 2,200 sheets; enabling users the ability to switch paper sizes and types at the touch of a button — from either the device or from the desktop with optional network printing.

The optional network print capabilities of the KM-3040 and KM-2540 are supported by an impressive range of tools to bring efficiency and control to the active printing environment. Print solutions such as, PDF Direct Print boost productivity as it enables users to easily print PDF files directly from the desktop, without the need to open any applications. Kyocera also offers its unique KX Driver to advance print performance; by easily allowing an end-user to specify the number of prints, required paper handling techniques, and stapling for document output.

To enhance the management process when you add the network print option, Kyocera offers:

• KM-NET, a suite of software that provides administrators the necessary tools for accounting, trouble-shooting, and monitoring networked devices from a central, secure location.

• PRESCRIBE, a software solution that allows companies to create and manage their critical business forms and letterhead, as well as store them directly at the device level in order to print on demand. This powerful solution allows businesses to eliminate pre-printed forms, with the added benefit of reducing overhead costs and freeing up financial resources.

To add functionality and greater efficiency, Kyocera offers an optional Super G3 33.6 Kbps fax system to bring a convenient multifunctional dimension to the KM-3040 and KM-2540 machines. With the ability to support traditional fax, users can reduce costs and eliminate the need for a standalone facsimile. In addition, users can send and receive faxes directly from the device at impressive speeds of 3 seconds per page.
