Adam Schaffer Joins Recharger Magazine as Publisher

September 5, 2007

1105 Media announced the addition of Adam Schaffer to its team as group publisher of Recharger Magazine. Recharger is the leading publication in the document printing industry aftermarket, as well as the leader in events, with five international expos and an executive-level business conference.

Schaffer comes to Recharger from Tradeshow Week, a unit of Reed Business Information, which is a division of London-based Reed Elsevier. In his five years with the company Schaffer launched several new media products and events, including the TSW Fastest 50. The event, now entering its fifth year, honors the fastest-growing tradeshows in North America.

“I am delighted that we have been able to attract an executive of Adam’s skill and stature,” said Neal Vitale, president and CEO of 1105 Media. “Recharger remains the dominant worldwide presence in the document printing industry aftermarket via publishing, World Expo, and our international events. The Recharger team is the most experienced and respected in the field, and we expect that Adam and they will lead the business to new heights. 1105 Media is already among the fastest-growing and most active business-to-business media companies, and we are continually looking for opportunities to bolster and expand leading brands like Recharger.”

“I am very excited about joining such a dynamic group,” Schaffer said. “The products we offer to the recharger community serve to create a global marketplace. I look forward to working with the team and the industry to keep those markets thriving.

Prior to joining Reed, Schaffer held senior sales and management positions at Penton Media, Worth Media, the Daily Journal Corporation and the James G. Elliott Company. He is a member of the American Business Media (ABM) Events Council and has served as a board member for the EDPA Foundation. He has been a speaker at many industry events including the American Business Media Tradeshow Summit, the Folio Show, IAEM Expo!Expo! and others.

Schaffer holds a master’s degree in communications management from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, also from USC. Schaffer is a private pilot and avid SCUBA diver. He resides in his native Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
