QualityLogic Opens Benchmark Lab Facility
May 16, 2007
QualityLogic announced the opening of its Benchmark Lab facility in Moorpark, Calif.. Located at QualityLogic's corporate headquarters, the state-of-the-art Lab will provide performance and new-standards testing for the printer, fax, copier and rastar image processor (RIP) industries. The Lab will offer a continuous stream of QualityLogic's newest testing services, and will use the Company's latest test tools and methodologies.
"QualityLogic is the premier independent provider of performance test tools and services for printers, copiers, fax devices and RIPs, as well as their associated consumables,” said Bridgeman Carney, QualityLogic's General Manager of Test Services. "Our new Benchmark Lab allows us to offer early, confidential testing of new devices in a very secure environment. We can then provide customers with individual and comparative results, and vital design and development feedback. The beauty of it is, we provide better results at far less cost than companies can achieve by doing in-house testing.”
The lab's initial offering is performance testing for Microsoft XPS (XML Paper Specification) compatible printers, multifunction peripherals and RIPs. XPS is the new page description language introduced in Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system. Currently, the number of XPS-compatible products is limited, with no commercially-available XPS printers released in the US. As a result, companies will be limited in trying to compare the performance of their XPS-capable prototypes against similar class products. The QualityLogic Benchmark Lab will invite hardware vendors to provide their pre-released XPS products for comparative speeds and compatibility, and provide individual, confidential results to participating companies.
QualityLogic anticipates that several new testing services will be introduced each year through the Benchmark Lab to keep pace with technology requirements in a variety of areas. These include speed performance, comparative testing, consumable yields, image, reliability, compatibility, various certification programs and others.
