May 1, 2007 - page(s): 38
OJAI, Calif. — The Tiara Group LLC announced that two senior market analysts from Lyra Research will speak at its 24th Annual Toners & Photoreceptors Seminar on June 4-7 at Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Senior Market Analyst Steve Reynolds will kick off the event with a discussion titled “New Hardware, New Pricing Policies Challenge the Office Imaging Market Place.” This presentation will focus on the robust growth of multifunctional printers (MFPs) and how they will affect the volume of supplies consumed annually. It will also explain and explore the possible effects of HP’s Edgeline and Silverbrook’s MemJet technologies, and Eastman Kodak’s low price inkjet inks.

Charles Brewer, managing editor of Lyra’s Hard Copy Supplies Journal, will follow with an overview of “Toners & Photoreceptors: Remanufacturing Market Trends.” This talk will include a summary of the supplies market in the U.S. and Europe in terms of size and structure. It will also forecast future aftermarket directions for color toners and toner cartridges.

“In addition to Lyra’s exclusive coverage of the formidable assaults from the inkjet sector, we have also been aggressively covering and analyzing the dynamic developments in the toner and photoreceptor industry,” said Frank Stefansson, CEO and executive vice president of Lyra Research. “We are looking forward to arming the leaders and pioneers in this business with Lyra’s analysis and perspective.”

The keynote speech will be delivered by Steve Weedon, CEO of Static Control Components, United Kingdom. His presentation, “Globalization of the Toner Industry,” will launch the seminar with a world view of black and color toners that highlights the impact of expanding markets and new producers.

One notable feature of the 2007 event is its new Monday to Wednesday format. According to Tiara’s Managing Director Terry Gorka, “We switched to a Monday start to accommodate the request of many past registrants. Nevertheless, we will still feature our annual golf tourney on Sunday, June 3, in light of popular demand.”

This year's gathering of imaging materials scientists and executives will feature one of the industry's finest networking programs. Many attendees will make their business deals on the beach, on the golf course, poolside, or at one of this coastal city's fine restaurants.

For the past 23 years, Diamond Research Corporation and The Tiara Group have organized this highly focused event for registrants to conduct business, discuss sales, distribution, mergers, acquisitions and licensing.

During the tutorial sessions on Monday afternoon, June 4, Dr. Scott Silence, principal scientist for Xerox Corporation, will present “An Update on Toner Technology;” Dr. David S. Weiss, research associate with Eastman Kodak Company, will provide “An Update on OPC Technology;” and Dr. Marilyn Black, CEO of Air Quality Sciences, will discuss the “Measurement & Control of Air Quality in Plant & Office Environments.”
