Brother Sets Up Sales Facility in India

January 25, 2007

Brother International Corp. in Nagoya City, Japan, announced that a new sales facility has been established in the city of Mumbai, India. Brother International (India) Pte. Ltd. has been designated as the operational base for Brother’s sales activities in the country. Brother International Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Brother Industries Ltd. in Nagoya City, Japan.

Outline of the New Sales Facility

India, which has a population of more than 1.1 billion, is one of the fastest growing countries in the world and maintains a real GDP growth rate higher than 8 percent. The country’s economic growth is expected to continue at a high rate in the future. At the same time, the market for printing devices such as printers and digital multi-function centers, Brother’s flagship products, is expected to expand in India while the country’s PC market is enlarging.

Before the establishment of the new sales facility, the Brother Group had a representative office in India. However, the group believed that the significance of Indian market would increase more than ever in the future, and established a new sales facility in Mumbai for the purpose of strengthening sales and customer support activities that are rooted there, and also for increasing sales and boosting Brother’s brand image in the country.
