Fujitsu Siemens Computers BV announced that the companys new Services Division starts operations as planned, strengthening the leading European IT manufacturers position as a leading provider of IT infrastructure solutions and product-related services. Customers now benefit from the companys enhanced ability to offer the complete spectrum of services for infrastructure and mobility solutions, its core growth segments. The new Services Division will focus on end-to-end platform solutions. Partners will continue to provide high-volume product services, as in the past.
We are in a very good position at Fujitsu Siemens Computers with our strategy concentrating on Mobility and the Dynamic Data Center. The new Services Division substantially reinforces these core business pillars, enabling us to offer our customers even more added value, remarked Fujitsu Siemens Computers President & CEO Bernd Bischoff. We also anticipate positive effects as a result of the customer knowledge and product expertise the new unit brings, and will use this knowledge for product and solution development. Our goal is to make the new Services Division profitable within one year.
Both the existing platform business and the new Services Division will report into Fujitsu Siemens Computers BV (Holding Company). Neil Allpress, Executive Vice President IT Product Services will head the services arm. The German operations will be led by Richard Schlauri, Senior Vice President IT Product Services Germany. Both have joined the Fujitsu Siemens Computers Executive Council.
The services division achieved approximately €1.3 billion in revenue for the last fiscal year and approximately 4,400 staff in 22 countries. The services division is represented throughout the world by partners in 170 countries.
