Photographers Want Less Expensive Inkjet Ink, According to Survey

August 16, 2005

In March of 2005, I.T. Strategies conducted a web survey of photographers with inkjet printers to determine the use of inkjet printers in their businesses. More than 1,400 photographers responded to the survey. The results of the survey will be presented in a series of seven reports.

In the survey, photographers were asked to indicate the one change they would make to their inkjet printers. They could choose from a predetermined list or fill in their own change. More than one-third of the respondents listed "Less Expensive Inks" as the one change they would make to their inkjet printers.

Faster Print Speed was mentioned by 17 percent. Fifteen percent of the respondents chose the "Other" category. For the most part, "Other" changes fell into six basic categories: Improved black & white printing; Better paper handling & selection; Increased ink capacity; More reliable hardware; Improved image quality; and better software.
