HP today officially opened the doors to its new sales center in Boise, Idaho, for hpshopping.com, the company's online consumer-shopping subsidiary.
HPshopping.com expects to staff the sales center with more than 200 employees and will continue to recruit employees over the next several months.
Lee Ray Massey, senior vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group - Americas at HP, and Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne are officiating a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at the new facility.
The sales center will serve hpshopping.com's U.S. consumers and will be staffed by salespeople focused on providing the best customer experience by delivering useful information on HP products and guiding buyers through the purchasing process.
Expanding the sales center operations comes at a vital time as hpshopping.com has experienced significant year-over-year growth and increased customer demand. The Boise sales center accommodates this growth and enables HP to continue to provide its award-winning customer service.
"The Boise sales center is a milestone for hpshopping.com," said Pete Appl, general manager, hpshopping.com. "It is especially gratifying that we will be joining the Boise community, a city that holds close ties to HP and a wealth of talent."
HP's operations in Boise include marketing and customer and sales support. The site is also a major research and development hub for the company.
