UMRA Invites Prospective Members to February Conference

December 1, 1999 - page(s): 156
Minneapolis, Minn. — The Upper Midwest Recharger Association is planning its next conference, scheduled for February 4-5, 2000.  The event will take place in the Twin City area.

UMRA is currently recruiting vendor sponsors for the event. Vendors interested in booth space and other sponsorship opportunities should contact Bill Henry, American Laser Products, at 608-274-3440.

Nonmembers can attend the event for a fee of $30 per person or $50 for two people.  This is a onetime offer for business owners who have never been a member of the Upper Midwest Recharger Association.

The UMRA membership fee is $100 annually.  Membership dues apply from May to May.  Members can attend the annual events for a $10 early-bird fee or $25 at the door.  Nonmember colleagues interested in attending should call Dawn Marquardt, Image Charge, at 715-693-1123.

The February event will include a business meeting and board member elections, a vendor cocktail reception, dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and instructional presentations. Registration on February 4 will open at 4 p.m.

Gov. Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin surprised all the UMRA membership by vetoing the portion of the proposed budget that would have banned single-use cartridges.  UMRA efforts will continue undaunted.  Many thanks to the Wisconsin remanufacturers who worked on behalf of this legislation.  Also special thanks to Sen. Russ Decker for his efforts to support the remanufacturers of Wisconsin.
