Static Control Components Receives International Trade Award

Sanford, NC — Static Control Components, Inc. received the 1999 Governor's International Trade Award on May 6 for outstanding contributions to North Carolina's international trade stature. The award was presented by North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt at the North Carolina World Trade Association (NCWTA) Conference held at the Grove Park Inn Resort in Asheville, NC.According to the NCWTA, Static Control was selected for its superior performance in the areas of innovation, vision, financial strength, accomplishments and overall performance of the company.

Static Control's international sales have an average annual growth rate of 30% over the past three years. According to Erwin Pijpers, Static Control's international sales manager, this is directly attributed to Static's dedication to research and development resources of laser printer applications specific to the overseas market, such as the Xerox® Document Centre 1250/3250DC, Xerox® Able 1221/1231 and the Fuji Xerox® Laser Press 4210/4410. "Our international dedication is apparent when you realize that SCC now does business with over 100 countries and has offices in Reading, England and Brussels, Belgium," said Pijpers.
"Ed Swartz, the owner and president of Static Control, has built a world class manufacturing facility here in Sanford and has created a steady stream of new, innovative products. It is these accomplishments that have enabled us to be successful and become a dominant player in all parts of the world in the markets we serve," said Pijpers.
NCWTA is dedicated to serving those engaged in or interested in the trade of goods and services internationally. The organization promotes the growth of international trade between North Carolina and the world. Founded in 1962, NCWTA today has nine chapters statewide and is the second largest such organization in the country.
Award candidates may be in the areas of manufacturing or agriculture-related exports and must be members of the North Carolina World Trade Association. Static Control was nominated by the Triangle Chapter of the NCWTA and was one of nine North Carolina companies being considered for this prestigious honor.
